4-HO-MET is related to 4-AcO-MET and psilocin (4-HO-DMT). It is also the 4-hydroxyl analog of the base tryptamine MET. The psychedelic outcomes are believed to derive from its activity on the 5-HT2A receptor as a partial agonist.
